Certified Pre-Owned 2015 Porsche Boxster GTS for sale SOLD! by owner.
"Beautifully balanced, predictable, and precise. One of the most delightful and engaging sports cars you can buy, at any price." - Motor Trend

$97,545 MSRP ($23,050 in options), #84 of only 577 in America. Very rare combination of desirable options including X73 Sport Suspension, PTV (Porsche Torque Vectoring with limited slip differential), GTS Interior Package, 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, and Premium Plus with keyless Entry & Drive (in addition to the Sport Chrono Package that comes standard on the GTS). No accidents, no stories, clean history. Always dealer serviced. A well-sorted 21,763 mile vehicle in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. No door dings, no curb rash on wheels, interior looks showroom new. New battery and major belt service this past November. Subtle (but also reversible) OEM+ appearance mods like Spyder ducktail and LED marker lights. No engine/performance mods (stock). No outstanding recalls, everything works, needs nothing (except possibly new rear tires next year), car is ready to enjoy. Up to 31 MPG and 500 miles per tank. Southern car with only 2 owners (same owner for past 5 years). Always garaged, never seen snow or salt, only been caught in the rain a handful of times. Owned by non-smoking enthusiast (and PCA club member) with clear title in hand. Clean bill of health at last service inspection (only 1,000 miles ago) but covered by transferable Porsche CPO warranty until 4/21/21, and still eligible for other 3rd party extended warranties (Fidelity, etc.). Remote or out-of-state buyers are welcome, and willing to ship or facilitate pre-purchase inspection at buyer's cost. If buyer prefers, will also conduct sale via "pass thru" (flow through) transaction at dealer of buyer's choosing (at buyer's expense, usually a nominal fee) for trade-in credit toward state sales tax or financing purposes.

The Porsche Boxster has won Car and Driver's "10Best" honors 22 times (tied for 3rd most titles ever), and the GTS is arguably the best-balanced blend of performance and comfort for the street. While the similarly exclusive Sypder was only offered with a manual transmission and a manual convertible top (which requires getting out of the vehicle to raise/lower and prevents the trunk from being accessed easily), the GTS offers an appealing balance of practicality and performance (4.1 seconds 0-60 MPH, 173 MPH top speed, and 1.05 of lateral G in a 3,164 lbs package) and was available with the same legendary X73 suspension as the Spyder. The list of luxurious creature comforts and convenience features available on the GTS (but unavailable on the Spyder) include: parking sensors, an electric/automatic convertible top (that lowers/raises in 9 seconds), and an optional $4,000 PDK automatic dual clutch transmission with shift paddles (one of the best and fastest-shifting transmissions available). Like the Spyder, GTS models also feature their own distinctive exterior aesthetics that quickly distinguish them from normal Boxster and Boxster S models, but the GTS preserves better ground clearance and driveway approach angles compared to the Spyder's deeper front lip. With only 837 981-series Boxster GTS cars imported to North America over 2 years (for comparison ~850 981 Spyders and ~2,400 981 Cayman GT4s were sold in North America, making the Boxster GTS more rare than either), a 2015 Boxster GTS is already an uncommon sight on the road. But you'll likely never encounter your exact twin in the wild (Porsche claims no more than 2 identical Porsche 911 or Boxster/Cayman sports cars are built every year).

Besides its clean accident-free history, there are several attributes that make this particular Boxster more valuable and attractive to enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike. That starts with the high-content GTS performance build that is greater than the sum of its cherry-picked parts and is often regarded as a sweet spot in the 981 line-up (and a rare Porsche "value" when new, since it bundled the best performance options at lower cost than adding them separately). Since the average MSRP for all 2015 Boxster GTS models sold in the U.S. is $89,480, my well-equipped GTS (with its higher-spec $97,545 build and the extremely hard-to-find "holy grail" combination of X73 and PTV--the only way to get a factory limited slip differential, which is an otherwise prohibitively expensive retrofit later) commands a slight premium over more typical examples. It took me 4 months to find the right car with X73, PTV, Entry & Drive (keyless start/stop), GTS Interior Package, 18-way adaptive seats, and reverse camera in the right color, and it was totally worth the wait. Now consider the current market of mostly higher-mileage Boxsters and my low-mileage vehicle with certified pre-owned pedigree and GTS exclusivity continues to stand out. Even though 2015 Boxsters have earned a stellar reliability rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from J.D. Power, my barely broken-in Boxster GTS with less than 22K miles should offer the next owner many more years of trouble-free enjoyment.

Condition:
A solid "#2: Excellent" using Hagerty's (and PCA Mart) condition rating scale:
"#2 vehicles could win a local or regional show. They can be former #1 vehicles that have been driven or have aged. Seasoned observers will have to look closely for flaws, but will be able to find some not seen by the general public. The paint, chrome, glass and finishes will all appear as excellent. No excessive smoke will be seen on startup, no unusual noises will emanate from the engine. The vehicle will drive as a new vehicle of its era would. The one word description for #2 vehicles is 'excellent.'"
Known mechanical flaws:
  • None
Known cosmetic flaws:
  • A handful of small (touched-up) rock chips on the front, only visible upon close inspection.
  • A small indentation in the plastic front bumper cover right below the edge of the hood (from accidentally closing the hood on the CTEK battery charger cable), only visible upon close inspection.
  • A few rock chips and some minor pitting in leading edge of paint directly behind side intake scoops (from rocks kicked up by front tires), only visible upon close inspection.
  • Normal pitting ("road rash") at bottom of the wheel arches/rockers just behind tires (from rocks and 21k miles of driving). Some paint is missing from these areas (they look like little specks of pepper or road tar), but they are only noticeable when stooping low to view bottom of the car. A small respray would quickly renew or dress up the affected areas, but I'd rather defer that decision to the next owner who may value original paint and doesn't mind a little natural patina.
  • Small fuzzy scuff marks from minor abrasion on convertible top, where the folded canvas fabric rubs when stowed (common on 981/991 convertibles).
  • Some of the wheels have a few darker water marks (drip runs) on the Platinum Satin wheels, likely from driving in the rain or dirty rinse water carrying brake dust from inside the wheel (behind the spokes) to the wheel faces. Thankfully they are not that noticeable since the wheels are already dark colored anyway. Other Porsche owners claim the right product or cleaning agent will remove those marks, but I'm too nervous to try a more aggressive wheel cleaner on the matte finish. To avoid creating dark water marks: Make sure to wash and thoroughly rinse the inside of the wheel barrels (behind the spokes) too, and ideally let the wheels completely dry before moving the car after a wash, otherwise dirty water from behind the spokes and inside the cross-drilled brake rotor holes and cooling vanes will drip out and dry on the face of your clean wheels.
